Shayne was driving home with his son Cam, who is named after Cam Neely of the Boston Bruins and his daughter Taylor they were listening to the radio when the Tragically Hip song 50 Mission Cap came on. The song is basically about a Toronto Maple Leaf Hockey Player named Bill Barilko. In1951, Bill scored in overtime and the Leafs won the Stanley Cup. That summer Bill went on a fishing trip and undoubtedly the worst happened, he never made it back. They found Bill’s body 11 years later when the Toronto Maple Leafs won the Stanley Cup in 1962. 50 Mission Cast Head Guide Shayne Stevenson is also a former NHL hockey player that played for Tampa Bay Lightning and Boston Bruins.
In addition, Shayne’s also a big Tragically Hip fan and quickly put it together by changing one word from cap to cast you now have the musky mission in place when on the water. “50 inches or 50 pounds is our musky mission”. In honour of the late great Bill Barilko 50 Mission Cast named their chapter boat. “The Barilko”
